How Early Childhood Support Can Transform Lives: A FridayTalks Session with AÇEV

TABLE OF CONTENTS

For this edition of FridayTalks, we welcomed the Mother Child Education Foundation (AÇEV). Together with the AÇEV team, we discussed the importance of early childhood education, support programs for parents, and the foundation’s work to advance equal access to education.

The session began with AÇEV’s founding story and continued with a discussion of the defining role that early childhood plays in a child’s development. AÇEV shared how its evidence-based educational programs help children begin life with equal opportunities, how its work has evolved over the years, and the impact it creates today.

Using the Mother Support Program and Father Support Program as examples, we explored the role parents play in children’s development. The discussion also covered the value of engaged fatherhood, the ways strong communication with parents can support child development, and how programs first launched in Türkiye have since reached other countries.

The AÇEV team also presented its summer schools, My First Library and My First School Bag projects, as well as its ongoing field activities in areas affected by earthquakes. Digital resources, mobile applications, and educational content for children and parents were among the other topics shared during the session.

This gathering offered another valuable reminder of how the right support in the early years can make a lasting difference to the future of children, families, and society.

At PEAKUP, we will continue bringing organizations that create value in different fields and inspiring initiatives together with our colleagues through FridayTalks. We thank the AÇEV team for sharing their experience and work with us.
